Choice of Course
My initial choice of course will be discussed with a tutor at interview.
The tutor and I will agree the most suitable course for me.
The tutor will explain that accreditation of prior learning, or other exemptions from parts of the course, may be available to me.
The tutor will check whether my choice of course builds on any previous records of guidance such as Records of Achievement, Action Plans, etc.
The tutor will discuss with me if I have the necessary previous qualifications, experience or other requirements for entry onto the course.
The tutor will explain the level of commitment I would need to complete the course successfully.
I will understand the qualifications I can achieve.
The methods of assessment will be explained to me.
The amount of work, including homework will be explained to me.
The standard of work required for successful completion of the course will be explained to me.
The opportunities for progression to other courses following successful completion of my course will be discussed with me.
I am aware that I may re-negotiate my choice with my tutor, if necessary, at a later date.
Entry requirements of the course will be discussed and checked at interview.
Support for the Student
The tutor will explain the financial requirements of the course to me including: fees, examination fees, cost of equipment, textbooks, visits, residential blocks, etc. at the interview.
The tutor will explain how I might obtain assistance which may help me to meet these financial requirements. The tutor will explain to me the services to students including, library and study facilities, refreshment areas, access to counselling service, careers service, child care facilities and support for students with disabilities or learning difficulties.
I understand that all outstanding fees must be paid in the event of withdrawal or transfer from any course, whether fee remission was claimed or not. |
