CITY and GUILDS - LEVEL 3 Diploma in Hairdressing
Who is the course for? This course has been designed for full and part-time learners. The course develops the both practical and knowledge skills required for basic hairdressing.
What will I learn?

The course consists of eight units:

Unit 201 Working in Hairdressing

Unit 302 Monitoring and maintaining health and safety in the salon

Unit 303 Consult with and advise the client on hairdressing services

Unit 304 Promote products and services to client

Unit 305 Cut women's hair to create a variety of looks

Unit 306 Style women's hair using a variety of techniques

Unit 307 Colour hair to create a variety of looks

Unit 319 Creative hairdressing design skills

Can I enrol onto this course? You will be required to have a level 2 hairdressing qualification and current work experience is an advantage.
When will I need to attend? 2 days per week for 40 weeks and work experience in a salon.
How much will it cost me? 17 to 19 year olds on a full-time programme will pay no tuition fees. If you are over 19 years costs will vary dependent on your circumstances. Please contact us for further information.
Can I get help with my fees? Fee remission is available if you are in receipt of a certain means tested benefits. However if you are entitled to full fee remission (19 years and over) you will be required to pay exam fees.
What do I need? A college hairdressing kit is compulsory and payable when you enrol. Part of this cost may be reimbursed through a grant, dependent on income.
Can I get help with travel costs? If you are 16 to 18 years old, live in Lincolnshire and this is your nearest college you may apply for transport from Lincolnshire County Council if your home is more than 3 miles from the college.  If you application is successful you will be required to make a contribution towards the cost of the transport before a travel pass is issued.
Can I get help with childcare costs? You can apply for help towards the cost of childcare on the days you attend college, depending on your income. The child carer must be registered with the local authority. First payments may be delayed whilst forms and checks are carried out.
What can I do after this course? This course will entitle you to be a senior stylist in a salon. You may also progress into teaching or managing a salon.
