- If under 19 years old on 1st September no tuition fees are payable
- Over 19 years on 1st September fees to be paid privately or with remission
- Under 19 years must attend 16 hours or more per week - 3.5 to 4 days a week and over 19 years 12.5 hours per week per course.
- Under 19 years must take Key Skills, if you do not have GCSE grades A-C in Eng., Maths & IT.
- Under 19 years - Bus passes are currently available if you live more than 3 miles away pending government changes.

- Start at Level 1 for one year leading to Level 2 or Modern Apprenticeship for second or third year (previous qualifications or experience can fast-track Level One.
- Over 19 years who have Mean Tested Benefits and are entitled to fee remission.
- Under 19 years, Child Benefit continues.

- Must be employed for 30 hours or more including college day. Attend college one day a week and work for an employer on remaining days.
- Between 16 and 24 years old (limited places for 19+).
- Paid by the employer - not minimum wage, (over 18 years rules change).
- Gain experience in a salon.
- Parents loose child benefit.

- MA (Modern Apprenticeship) includes:
- NVQ Level 2
- Key Skills taken in Com, IT, AON unless GCSE 'C' grades or above
- Optional or compulsory technical unit (not hairdressing)
- This level takes approximately two years

- AMA (Advanced Modern Apprenticeship) includes:
- NVQ Level 3
- Key Skills at either Level 2 and Level 3
- Optional or compulsory technical unit (not hairdressing)
- This level takes approximately 12-24 months

Preferable to find own workplace and employer although college will help. Remember the workplace must be willing to pay towards college tuition. Induction days for Apprenticeships (not MA) will take place Tuesday 1st September, 9am to 2pm at Wilford Grove. A minimum of four weeks of work experience before a pledge is signed. |
